Costa Rica

Let the recording of our adventure begin.

First let me start with the day one. We had a little delay on our way from Houston to San Jose and we were all nervous that our car rental place wouldn't be open, so rushed to get our bags from luggage pick up. We finally got all of our bags together, Drew was kinda mad cause his wheel on his suitcase was faulty from traveling..... or so we thought. We get to our cute little hotel and jump in the shower. Drew gets out of the shower and opens his bag. He yells to me the bathroom, "What the heck is this," and pulls out a silky floral shirt from his bag. I had no idea and started to look in his bag and yep, Drew got a senoritas bag instead of his! We slept for about 3 hours that night figuring out his bag and it all ended out ok. He got his bag and hopefully the senorita got hers.

The next day we met up with our pals (their flight landed in the morning) and headed on our 3 hours drive to Dominical. This drive went super fast because we were driving through a freaking jungle and it was AMAZING! There were a ton of fruit stands, when we stopped at one I got a huge mango and an even larger avocado. Oh and drew got a coke.... and then another coke.... and then one more. It is true though coke is better down there....
Then we made it! To our destination, Dominical. The most beautiful place in the world. We put our bags away then threw on our swimsuits and jumped in the pool. We enjoyed the sun the rest of the day.

We started the next day bright and early to go get some lessons on surfing. It was a lot of laughs. But hey I did get up and yes I surfed!

After we kinda learned how to surf we went surfing most every day that we were there. Well I didn't go every day... a book on the beach sounded more relaxing. After one of the days that we went surfing we went up to this amazing waterfall. The ocean it really warm, like 79 degrees... so it makes it really hard to cool off. This waterfall was so pretty, it felt so refreshing, and it had a rope swing!!!!

One of the days we went horseback riding! I had never actually been on a horse for more then 5 minutes and i was so excited! The jungle was so pretty and we saw some little wild moneys that were pretty hilarious. We ate at this little house off the side of the trail and had breakfast and on the way back we had some lunch. The food was really good but the place we ended up was even better. We ended up at this huge waterfall! I don't have pictures cause it was so wet but we went swimming once again at a waterfall but this time it was huge!

The last day of the trip we went ziplining! It was super fun, but it rained so hard. I'm talking I have never rain like that in my life. It was a wet and fast ride but i wouldn't want to do it in the sun because it was so fun in the rain.

This was the house we stayed in! There were monkeys and toucans that lived in the trees around our place. It was so weird in the morning to wake up to monkeys instead of dogs or birds. We had papaya trees, starfruit trees, and coconuts growing all around our house so we stoked!

This was the inside downstairs.

Best fruit in the world! Sweet as candy!

Costa Rica was such a fun vacation. I will never forget the memories we made and the fun time we had with our friends!

My Lamps

So i have to show off a little bit.... mainly because i'm pretty proud. Who would i thought i had such talents. haha Not really. But they were really fun to make.

I recovered and painted some lamps that I got from my Great Aunt Edith. Saved me a lot of money compared to new lamps and i really do like how they turned out.

Moab

Day 1 (wednesday)
Got everything packed & then double checked the packing list. Packed some more, then packed some more. Laid on the bed and watched Parenthood while waiting for Drew to come home so we could load up everything I packed (we were prepared). Loaded up the jeep (8:30 pm) on the truck and took off. Got lost in Spanish Fork for 30 minutes. Laughed a lot because i really don't know how to use a GPS. And then feel asleep. Woke up at 3:00 a.m. while drew was driving in a open lot off the side of the road in Moab and crawled in our back seat and feel asleep once again.

Day 2 (thursday)
Woke up in a state of where the heck are we. Looked outside and noticed that there was red rock and blue skies above and remembered where I was. Alan started to pound on our window so we got up (7:00am). I had to pee so bad and there was no where to go. So for the first time in my life i grabbed a cup and... need i say more. Lets just say i felt so much better. Drove to our camp site, set up camp, grabbed some lunch and headed on a trail. Poison spider, sounds scary.
The end was scary. The arch is scary. I held onto drew's hand like i was going to die.

Walked on top of the scary arch for a while then found a cave. Loved the cave. Soft cool sand, climbed around a bit, and laughed a lot. Love to laugh.
Day 3
The day of Kane creek. My favorite trail. Memories include a lot of dancing to lady gaga, good lunches by the creek, and dodging the trees that try to hit me as we are driving. Dinner was at the Moab Diner and i got some egg deliciousness and drew got something else... and then liked mine and ate mine. Oh i drove for a while this day on the wild rocks. No big deal.

Day 4

Another trail. can't remember what its called. Something mean like lions back, or sabertooth. Ok maybe not but something like that. I had to listen to anatomy lectures about the reproductive system. Talk about a lot a weird stuff to learn. Car show was at night. We got a little crazy trying to make people peel out in their cars. Oh and we ate at my favorite moab pizza joint and i saw Miley Cyrus. Ok not her but someone that looked just like her. I don't have the picture but seriously it was nuts.

Fun time at Moab. Always is. Always will be.

The Picture

IKEA has always been my favorite. Well ever since i went there for the first time in December. Now I want all these fun things from there and I'm constantly asking the girls in my family to take a girls day and go to Draper. So, last week we all found a time when we could go and we left on Wednesday.

Man it was such a fun day! And man did fine some good deals. For some reason we ended up taking Estee's car (Subaru Outback) because it was better on gas or something. Well picture this... me and my mom in the front and Estee in the back with 2 car seats. She had honestly about 12 inches to sit the whole ride (good thing she is tiny). Anyways.... I had a list of things that I wanted for our new apartment and one of those items was a big picture for our wall by our TV. So we get downstair where there are a ton of pictures to choose from and I love about 10 (of course), and Estee is my little friend on my shoulder whispering "that won't fit in the car Sadie". Every picture I would look at Estee would pop out of no where and tell me how it won't fit in the car. Well I found one that I really liked and I was sure it was going to fit in the car. So we check out and each one of us has about 10 items and we shove everything into the wagon. Then it was time for the picture to fit nicely on top of all the stuff we had bought. Well it sure didn't go in so nicely. It basically sat on Estee's head the whole ride home. Here is Estee, with to kids by the side of her and this picture that rested on her head for the 2 hour drive home. Yeah I wish I would have taken a picture to show you how squashed everyone was. It was pretty funny and i felt pretty bad for thinking that it would fit. I should oh sat back there but there there was no way my bottom was going to fit in those 12 inches between those car seats!

So i will post the picture for you all because it is sure loved at our house and I just wanted to tell you the sacrifice that Estee made to get it here. Thanks ST. You rock.

Valentines Music

I recently ran into a blog that had this amazing artist featured on it.... Mindy Gledhill. Her songs are definitely getting the repeat button pushed on my playlist.
Check it out.

My favorite song she sings is called "Anchor". It's pretty much amazing. I love how clean her voice sounds and how much i can relate to her music.

Anyways she is having a valentines concert in Provo! Anyone want to double? I so want to go!

A cute New Apartment

Things around here have been going really good. We both have started back up again at Utah State University and we are really excited to get one more semester behind us. I am graduating this spring, which is making this semester not as bad as most winters. Drew is taking one class on campus and the rest are online so that helps with making his schooling not so bad. We live for the weekends where we... (mostly he) goes up the canyon and get a little snowmobiling/skiing in. I used to be so nervous going cause its a little scary when you have to stand on one side while he stands on the other of the snowmobile... while you crawl up pretty steep stuff. Last time we went however, it was the most beautiful day! I loved being out of the smog and up in the most beautiful blue skies. And the snow was buttery so that was a definite bonus.

(Estee has got the best poses)

Something else that is new is we just moved into a cute apartment! The house we are now living in has so much character. We are living in the upstairs of a house close by the temple. I love that it has a laundry shoot, ironing board that come out of a cupboard in the dining room, the built in shelving, and who can forget the one of a kind doorbell. Its so fun to feel cosy yet have some room to move around. I'm excited to begin new memories here and hopefully we wont have to move for a while!

A Bud K New Year!

This year for New Year's Eve, us and our friends had a gift exchange. Now this wasn't your average gift exchange, it was a BUD K weapon gift giving extravaganza. My friend Jenny (and some other people) had the best idea of everyone going to BUD K.com and picking something out that was around $10.00. When the items arrived she wrapped up all the gifts in boxes so we wouldn't know what anything looked like. On the boxes she put remarks that previous purchasers made about the items. Some examples of the remarks were... " For a real mountain man" and "Great for practicing my honing skills." Anyways, it was so fun watching people open their weapons and laughing really hard at the size of some of the knifes. Such a fun night! Love the nights where you laugh so hard it hurts.

Anyways... Happy New Years!

P.S. Thanks Jon if you are reading this for the pics
