Ward Lake
Last Sunday we had a picnic for our work at Ward Lake! It was super fun because we don't have a vehicle we don't get to go to far away from the city. It was such a pretty place and it was also nice to get some free food! They rented some canoes for us to use so Drew and I strapped on life jackets and went on an adventure across the lake. Drew drank a coke in honor of Kim... i was worried the whole time that it was going to spill all over me while we were paddling. We saw a ton of bald eagles but never saw any bears so don't worry Mom! haha

Sunday, May 3rd 2009
Well today was one of the crazy days. Drew and I got up in the morning and hurried and got ready for church. We have to walk to church because we have no car and no way other way to get there. We gave ourselves plenty of time but still ended up getting lost and we were 20 minutes late for church! About 10 percent of the streets are stairs and sidewalks (no motor vehicles allowed). So the street we were supposed to go to was a stairway street and we walked about a mile extra before we found the church house. There are a lot of people that are members here (well more people then i had expected.) The church house is amazing. The local members built the church which shows me there is no doubt these people believe strongly in this gospel.
Later on today we went for walk around the back roads to see some of the houses that are nestled on the mountain side. It was gorgeous today because it was semi- raining which led to lower clouds that blanketed the tips of the mountains. Everything is so green here and i couldn't stop taking pictures. I will have pictures posted soon but i forgot my cord to import my pictures from my camera. We ended up finding a cool trail that gave us a beautiful view of the city of Ketchikan. I'll tell you what, this is one pretty place.
